Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has offered Stipe Miocic to complete their trilogy.
A couple of weeks before UFC 294, Dana White announced Jon Jones tore his pectoral muscle and will not compete against two time title holder Stipe Miocic in November. Due to that news, the UFC made an interim fight for the heavyweight championship between Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall. Francis Ngannou left the UFC after his contract expired back in December. He then signed with the PFL in January, with the chance to compete in boxing.
Ngannou made his boxing debut this past weekend against undefeated, WBC champion, Tyson Fury. It was a spectacular showing for “The Predator” as he got a knocked down over “The Gypsy King” in the third round but ended up loosing to a controversial split decision. Also claiming that if Fury was an honest man, he would admit Ngannou beat it. After the boxing fight, Ngannou is throwing his name into the conversation to compete against Stipe Miocic and finish their trilogy. Even though he’s been calling out for Jon Jones.
Francis Ngannou Offers to Fight Stipe Miocic Next
As for now, Francis Ngannou made a bold offer to fight the veteran fighter and firefighter, Stipe Miocic. Miocic was taken off the card of UFC 295 since Dana White only wants to see the two fight each other. Instead White created the aforementioned interim championship fight. Ngannou is still willing to fight Jon Jones as he continues to search for that fight.
“I’ve been calling out (Jon) Jones but I can take Stipe (Miocic) for the same occasion while waiting on JJ to get back,” Francis Ngannou posted on X.
Francis lost once to Stipe at UFC 220 back in January of 2018. That was Ngannou first attempt at a title shot. He would eventually get the rematch after getting four first round knockouts. “The Predator” second attempt at UFC gold was a success as he got the knockout in the second round to become undisputed. Ever since then, Ngannou has been calling out Jon Jones since Jones has mentioned he is moving to heavyweight. Since that Jones is injured, he offered Miocic a chance to complete their trilogy.
