After a highlight-worthy knockout of Andre August by Jake Paul, Francis Ngannou has applauded the YouTuber. The former Disney star recently took on the American Cruiserweight in the eighth professional boxing match of his career. But unlike all but one of his previous opponents, Paul’s latest rival, August, is an actual professional boxer.
But despite this, ‘The Problem Child’ made it look easy, finishing the 35-year-old in the very first round of their matchup. Right from the first bell, the social media sensation looked better than his opponent, and in the second minute, he connected with an uppercut that dropped August. Something that seems to have impressed Francis Ngannou.
Francis Ngannou Praises Jake Paul’s Ko Win Over Andre August
Former UFC heavyweight champion and knockout artist, Francis Ngannou, has recently praised Jake Paul for his knockout win over Andre August. Following the YouTuber’s win, the French-Cameroonian took to Twitter and wrote: “The kid’s got skills, congrats on an amazing performance.” A former world champion, Ngannou has made a name for himself with a stint of first-round knockouts. Praise for him is definitely worthy considering his feats inside the octagon.
Coming off a controversial loss to Tyson Fury, Ngannou shares a unique connection with Paul. Both men, despite being ‘outsiders,’ have proven their mettle inside the ring. Making his debut boxing debut earlier this year, Ngannou dropped Fury in a similar fashion to Paul. And although the Englishman won the fight via a split decision, the former UFC star won the respect of the boxing community with his performance.
Earlier this year, when Ngannou announced his departure from the UFC, Paul came out in his defense. The former Disney star reasoned this move by claiming that Dana White was unfair to the Cameroonian. And although it might have more to do with Paul’s beef with White, the words were a breath of fresh air among the barrage of criticism. It is noteworthy that Ngannou and Paul are both currently signed to the MMA organization PFL. And despite being part of the promotion for a while, both men are due their debut.
No Callout for KSI by Jake Paul
It is no secret to anyone that there is a rivalry sprouting between Jake Paul and KSI for a while now. The two men began their boxing journey at a similar time and have gone back and forth verbally on many occasions. In contrast, KSI has gone toe-to-toe twice against Jake’s elder brother, Logan Paul, winning 1 of the two matchups.
Looking to avenge his brother, Paul, calling out KSI has been anticipated for a while now. And with his recent triumph, it was a perfect opportunity for ‘The Problem Child’ to issue a challenge. However, proving all the speculations wrong, the junior Paul did not make any callout. Instead, the former Disney star teased his next move, promising a ‘knockout for Christmas’. Who his next opponent might be? For now, Paul has left this on speculations.
