Francis Ngannou has admitted that he should have followed the advice Conor McGregor gave him.
Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor knows a thing or two about crossing over to boxing from MMA. He famously challenged Floyd Mayweather at his peak to attempt to dethrone him from the ranks of undefeated. Dana White and Mayweather team helped this crossover and reportedly made Mayweather 230 million and Conor made 130 million dollars. Lately a lot more MMA fighters have been transitioning to fighting in the ring. The likes of Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz and the latest of them all Dillon Danis. All of them did not have the success like Francis Ngannou had this past weekend.
Former UFC heavyweight champion lost a controversial split decision to Tyson Fury this past weekend in Saudi Arabia. The Cameroonian was making his boxing debut and impressed the whole world. Even scoring a knockdown in the third round and loosing by only one point. Before the fight, Conor McGregor had some advice for “The Predator”
Francis Ngannou Receives Kicking Advise From McGregor
Conor McGregor was the first big UFC star to crossover to the boxing world. He tweeted that Francis Ngannou should throw a leg kick. The Cameroonian replied to Conor.
“I’d say kick the leg”
“He was right I should’ve kick his fk legs, I can’t believe that he elbowed me”
Whether is was intentional or not, Fury did land an elbow on Ngannou. Fury did not get a point taken away or disqualified for the illegal move. Ironically, Fury did tell Ngannou that he would be disqualified if a takedown, kick or choke was attempted.
“This is a boxing fight and it’s actually a proper boxing, sanctioned fight. If he starts doing anything stupid, he’ll get chucked out and disqualified. Game over. This is not a wrestling match, an MMA fight or a street fight. This is Queensbury rules. The greatest sport in history,” Fury told MMA Junkie
