As the countdown begins for Rise and Conquer, Frank Hyslop is ready to step into the cage once again. Following his debut last year, Frank is eager to showcase his improvements against Rhys Robson at the Rainton Arena in Houghton le Spring. Let’s delve into his thoughts ahead of the fight.
Reflecting on his debut, Frank remarked:
“I didn’t really focus any of these preparations on Goliath to be honest. A couple of mistakes made from inexperience and just caught off a good opponent. That’s the game. This camp was just spent focusing on improving overall, and I’ve been really happy with my progress over the short period since Goliath.”
Frank Hyslop On Goliath Fight Series Defeat
Addressing the setback of his first-round defeat, Frank emphasized resilience:
“I was back in the gym on Monday following Goliath with the result put behind me and focusing on improving for the next one. No point dwelling on it. No injuries was the positive to take from that night. I’m confident in my preparations that I won’t make the same mistakes, and I’m confident I have what it takes to put on a performance.”
Regarding his upcoming opponent, Rhys Robson, Frank observed:
“Rhys looked decent in his last fight, a high pace bout with a lot of back and forward exchanges. Really good fight from both guys. I’m not concerned at all. I’ve met Rhys in competition previously, totally different game, but I’ve had a feel for him. I’m just looking forward to getting out there and performing at my best. Hopefully we both turn up at our very best and put on a show.”
Looking Ahead
When asked about his goals for the fight, Frank emphasized performance over outcome, stating:
“The goal for me is always the performance. If I go out there and perform to my absolute best – at the level I know I’m at, the result will be there. The worst part about last time out was knowing I didn’t get to do that. The loss itself means nothing to me.”
In closing, Frank expressed gratitude towards his team and anticipation for the upcoming battle, saying:
“I’d like to thank everyone in the MMA team at the Griphouse for pushing me day in day out. And Dean as well. Wouldn’t be seeing the improvements in myself that I have been if I didn’t have all these guys making me put the work in. Don’t have much to say to Rhys at this point. I’m just buzzing for a good fight with a tough opponent.”
