Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are the biggest names on the British heavyweight scene. They are both now looking to get back into the title picture after suffering defeats to Oleksandr Usyk. Both Joshua and Dubois are looking for an opponent to face. Whilst Joshua looks to be facing Deontay Wilder, Dubois’ promoter Frank Warren has expressed an interest in the matchup between his client and AJ.
Could The Fight Actually Happen
Joshua has been the face of British boxing for many years and looks to rebuild his career after two defeats to Usyk. He’s coming off a win against Robert Helenius, where he won by knockout. He must keep racking up wins to get another shot at the title. Joshua now looks to get a massive win over a notable heavyweight like Wilder. However, it is always hard to make a fight of that magnitude. If the fight with Wilder doesn’t happen, then a bout with Dubois could be a fantastic option for Joshua.
Dubois is coming off a loss to Usyk, but he did better than many people expected him to do against the Ukrainian fighter. Many people believe that Dubois won the fight as the referee called a shot low when many thought it was a brutal body shot. Dubois is a rising star in boxing, and it seems it is only a matter of time until he is champion. A win over a former two-time champion like Joshua could do wonders for his career.
Frank Warren Gives Thoughts On Potential Matchup
It is hard to see how the fight would play out as they have similar styles in the ring. They are massive punches that can put their opponent’s lights out at any time. The contest winner would likely be next in line for a title shot, which both men want. Speaking to talkSPORT, Warren gives his thoughts on a potential matchup between Joshua and Dubois.
“A good fight, I think, would be [Dubois] and Joshua,” Warren told talkSPORT.
“Both of them have been criticised recently about their desire.
“Joshua is a big puncher like Daniel, and you look at his last few fights where you wanted to see a bit more out of him, but I think that’s a cracking fight.”
Would The Fight Be Appealing
As previously stated, it seems like a fight with Wilder is what is next for Joshua. The contest will likely occur in December, with Saudi Arabia hosting the event. However, Warren argued that Dubois should be the more appealing option for Joshua instead of Wilder and who the victor would be if they met in the ring.
“I think with the British fans, it would. “I haven’t got a problem with Wilder vs Joshua, but it ain’t happening. I’ve had that conversation many times, and I don’t see that fight happening in Saudi at all.”
“[Joshua’s] got to fight somebody, and if it isn’t Wilder, then who is he going to fight.”
“I fancy my man, but we will see, that’s if they want to go down that road.”

Whatever happens, it will be exciting to see what is in store for both fighters as their return to the title picture will be interesting.
