On July 22nd in London, a new Cage Warriors lightweight king will be crowned when George Hardwick takes on Kyle Driscoll. This fight will be one to keep an eye on with two fierce competitors who have both fully earned their shot at the gold. On the eve of the UFC’s return to the English capital, these men will be looking to steal the show when the eyes are watching.
George Hardwick
Hardwick knows what it takes to win with a professional record of 9-1. Learning from his first and only loss, he has since gone on to win five in a row. Finishing four of them wins, all coming in the second round. Earning his shot at the CW title. Having a mixture of skills, he boasts a mixture of victories. With two KO/TKO, three SUBS and four decisions on his resume. He is looking to show all the tools in his locker and become the newly crowned champion in July.
Fighting out of Middlesbrough, England, the 27-year-old has already seen himself fighting for big promotions. Donning the gloves for both Cage Warriors and Bellator, among others. He is already used to the big spotlight and will be ready to shine when the light is at its brightest.
Kyle Driscoll
His opponent will be 28-year-old American Kyle Driscoll. Collating a professional record of 13-3. Kyle has put his early career setbacks in the rearview mirror. Since he last tasted defeat, he is gaining a super impressive eight-fight winning streak, being worthy of a title opportunity. With six finishes in 13 fights. Kyle possesses an exciting style and can do damage on the feet, earning five KO/TKO victories in his career.
Jumping over to enemy territory, Driscoll is familiar with Cage Warriors as he fought at CW 133, which took place in San Diego, California. After winning on the Contender Series in 2020, the Americans will be looking to show the UFC what they missed and will be looking to put on a clinic one day before UFC London.
