George Kambosos Jr will return to home soil in New South Wales, Australia looking to make a statement to the Lightweight division.
Kambosos will take on Jake Wylie after previous opponent Daud Yordan pulled out on fight week due to an injury.
The Aussie is coming home now taking on a fellow Australian in Jake Wyllie. Wyllie is 16-0-0 with his only loss coming via TKO in 2023 but Wyllie isn’t here to make up the numbers. He has vowed to give Kambosos a competitive fight despite the mountain to climb in front of him.
“I woke up my girlfriend and said “I’m fighting George Kambosos!” On Saturday I become a Champion. I’m not here to participate, I’m here to takeover.” Wyllie has exclusively fought inside Australia with the highest level being national when he fought Dylan Emery for a national title.
Kambosos on the other hand is a veteran at world level competing in his non world title fight since 2020. The Australian has fought anyone and everyone in the division including Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko. Although Kambosos lost to both Lomachenko once and Haney twice it hasn’t discouraged him furthering his career.
“The way I look at it is it’s not wins and losses. It’s wins and listens. You keep getting up. We lose. Everybody loses in life everything. We lose every day,We keep bouncing back, and that’s how I am in my sport and it’s a sport. I’m a warrior in my chosen sport, and I keep doing what I do best. I keep stepping up and fighting the best fighters in the sport.”
