The GLORY Grand Prix weigh-in results are in and all fighters made weight this morning in Amsterdam ahead of the historic GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix this Saturday, March 9, at the GelreDome in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Eight of the best heavyweights on the planet will take part in an epic one-night tournament with the winner walking away with $500,000 and the title of GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix champion.
In the opening round, the ‘King of Kickboxing’ Rico Verhoeven (61-10, 20 KO) faces French tactician Sofian Laïdouni (35-2-1, 17 KO), the popular Nabil Khachab (27-4-1, 4 KO) goes against three-time tournament champion Benjamin Adegbuyi (35-7, 20 KO), former interim-heavyweight champ Tariq ‘Cookie’ Osaro (25-3-1, 13 KO) clashes with the wild & unpredictable Bahram Rajabzadeh (65-1, 58 KO), and rising Dutch star Levi Rigters (15-1, 7 KO) collides with power puncher Uku Jürjendal (20-8, 16 KO).
In addition to the Grand Prix there are two GLORY title fights. Heated rivals Donegi Abena (27-9, 7 KO) and Tarik Khbabez (49-10-1, 28 KO) meet to determine the undisputed GLORY light heavyweight champion while Tyjani Beztati (25-4, 9 KO) defends his lightweight title against top German Enriko Kehl (53-15-2, 31 KO).
In breaking news at the press conference, it was announced that Endy Semeleer (35-1, 17 KO) will put his welterweight title on the line against Dutch star Chico Kwasi (42-5, 22 KO) in the main event of GLORY 91 at the Dome de Paris in France on April 27 and middleweight champ Donovan Wisse (20-1, 10) defends against number one contender Ulric Bokeme (32-4, 17) at GLORY 92 at the RTM Stage in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on May 18.
