Golden Ticket Fight Promotions has made a bold move to set itself apart in the UK MMA scene. The ever-growing fight promoters have extended their reach to a much more global audience, The Metaverse.
In partnership with Rumble Junction, LiveMMA and TheKingdomeNFT, the UK trailblazer’s first Metaverse event will be GTPF 19. The announcement adds even more reason to get excited about the June 4th card. The event will be the first of its kind for UK MMA. The technology itself is used currently for Basketball games, interviews and XFL fights. XFL is one of the largest MMA promotions in the Oceanic regions.
GTPF 19 was already set to be a historic night as Melissa Dixon takes on Portuguese fighter Mafalda Carmona in the main event for the GTFP women’s bantamweight championship. Surely with so many moving parts to this huge event, it is one to watch for sure.
When speaking to the co-founder Alex in the discord server for the project he had this to say:
- It is fantastic! It breaks down the barriers that a physical stadium presents.
- Geographic, and economics, obviously we all saw what COVID did.
- It allows people to socialize and engage around an event with much deeper integration also than just watching on their couch at home.
With promotions like Golden Ticket Fight Promotions willing to take a chance in order to grow their brands, it is an exciting time to be a UK MMA fan.
