GTFP 19 will be taking place in just a few months on June 4th. The fights are starting to be announced, and we were able to confirm a barnburner of a fight. In an exchange with GTFP through Instagram, we learned that Joe Cummins and Aaron Khalid would square off in June.
Joe ‘Silk’ Cummins (8-2)
‘Silk’ Cummins will come into this fight with a fantastic record of eight wins and two losses. Of his eight wins, six have come by way of finish, and Joe always hunts for a stoppage. With three submissions and three stoppages via strikes to his record, Cummins is a threat wherever this one goes.
Joe Cummins was first publicly noticed for his success in the well-respected EFC promotion. Cummins won all but one bout in his six fights with the promotion and netted three stoppages. He also became EFC Lightweight Championship in his final fight under the promotional banner.
In his last fight with Golden Ticket, Joe stopped the now double champion, Thomas Paull, in the very first round. After pitstops in both Battle Arena and FCC, ‘Silk’ sets his eyes on GTFP 19 on June 4th. Should Joe pull out another impressive stoppage, it’s fair to assume that a big call could be coming.
Aaron ‘King’ Khalid (10-7-1)
The Welsh fighter walks into this fight as the clear underdog, but he has more than a puncher’s chance. The nine-fight Cage Warriors veteran is as experienced as any at this juncture and poses a massive test for Cummins. This could be a massive win for ‘King’ Khalid.
King saw his fair share of ups and downs in his tenure with Cage Warriors. In his four Cage Warriors victories, Khalid conquered each foe by way of Submission. ‘King’ Khalid looks to erase a recent two-fight skid with a high-profile victory come June.
Looking to punch his golden ticket at GTFP 19, Aaron is dangerous as always. ‘King’ has finished each of his last eight wins in the cage and looks for yet another stoppage. Pulling out a victory would mean flipping momentum back in Aaron’s favour, so all eyes should be on ‘King’.
