On the 4th of June, at KK’s Steel Mill, GTFP 19 is taking place. As the date draws closer and more bouts are announced, the excitement continues to build. The fight promotion based in Wolverhampton has announced fight after fight, padding the line-up with new and experienced MMA talent.
The most recent bout GTFP has announced between Luke Whitehouse and Richard Nottingham, competing as amateur welterweights. Both men are chasing their first win in the promotion.
Luke Whitehouse vs Richard Nottingham
Golden Ticket Fight Promotions pride themselves on the ability to make fights. The promotion makes fights which align with the fighter’s and fan’s interests. Furthermore, the platform provided to fighters is key to the development of the sport. This matchup, in particular, serves as a good example of what the promotion does so well.
Luke Whitehouse is untested, outside of his experiences training and competing in an Ultra MMA event. Ultra MMA is a white-collar fight event that raises money for charity. He ramped up his training regime following the event and signed on to fight under GTFP’s banner.
The man standing across the octagon from Luke Whitehouse is Richard Nottingham. The fighter made his amateur debut at GTFP 17, fighting against the then 1-0-0 Mikey Tranter. Richard went on to lose on his debut. This loss is nothing to take to heart, Mikey Tranter has gone on a 3-fight-win-streak since then and will be challenging for a title on the same card.
