Harry Brown promises to deliver a fun-fight at British Fighting Championship 4 on October 21.
Brown enters his clash with Hassan Al Amide on the back end of a debut win on Full Contact Contender 30 last year. With some time out, he feels those attending will be surprised with the improvements he’s made.
Prior to battle in Middlesbrough, we had the opportunity of catching up with Harry Brown. Hear his full thoughts below.
Interview With Harry Brown
I bet you’re counting down the days until you make the walk once again. How are you feeling, having had a slight break since your debut last year?
I am extremely excited to go again on October 21st and show the levels I have increased since my last outing.
Last September, you put on the gloves for the first time and made the walk on FCC. Talk to me about that experience, how it panned out, and did it live up to your expectations.
I loved fighting on FCC. I hope to fight there again in December. It is a fantastic stage for all up-and-coming fighters. In regards to the fight, it was a war from start to finish. Me and my coaches had seen footage of Zidane, so we knew he was a good opponent coming from a strong gym. The fight itself had everything that you would want from a debut; it didn’t all go my own way, but I came out the victor in a tough back and forward war that was a very valuable experience for me.
Harry Brown Talks Fight With Zidane Uddin
After seeing you stop Zidane Uddin in the second round, many would have thought we’d have seen you with a quick turnaround. Was there a reason for not seeing you sooner, and have you still been grinding in the gym during that time off?
I was scheduled to fight Afeez Oderinde in December 2022. The camp was going great until I went to the FCC show in early December. When I came home, I was really ill. I wanted to fight really badly, but My coaches made the decision to pull me. In retrospect, that was a wise decision; as if you can’t breathe, you can’t fight. After that, I felt slightly deflated, but I went back to the gym and have been rounding out my skillset, especially my defensive wrestling and BJJ, with the lads from Just Grind mma. I have also been having regular privates with Harry Hardwick over at MFA, which has brought my skills on massively over the last 12 months.
I can imagine the nerves and anxiety would have been seeping in prior to your debut on FCC. Do you feel you are somewhat mentally equipped to deal with that better, having done it once before?
I am quite stoic when dealing with my nerves. I obviously feel them, but I don’t let them get any kind of foothold in my mind. My mind is bulletproof that way and is my biggest asset. I feel very focused on this next fight; my mind is dialled in, and I am ready for war.
BFC 4
BFC 4, you will face off with Hassan Al Amide when you look at his previous two fights. What are your initial thoughts looking in from the outside at his skillset?
Firstly, I will start by saying I respect Hassan as he is a tough lad who comes to scrap. As far as his skillset is concerned, I haven’t seen anything that is going to bother me on the night.
You told your followers to “expect fireworks”. What about this fight screams fireworks to you?
I like to stand in the middle and trade, and he comes forward aggressively, so it’s going to be fireworks until his head clatters the canvas.
Finally, leave us with a final message to those who support your training, alongside any last messages you may have for your opponent.
Thanks to all the lads at Just Grind mma who support me every day. Your support is appreciated. Most importantly, thanks to my girlfriend Abby, who puts up with my s**t
