Harvey Roberts is fired up and ready to put on a show as we head into Full Contact Contender 30 fight week.
The MMA Academy Liverpool fighter meets Michael Walters on the night and looks to add another notch to his win bracket.
As always, FCC 30 will go down at The Bolton Arena with a stacked line-up in store for those attending. Fans can expect to get their money’s worth.
We had the pleasure of catching up with Harvey Roberts ahead of his battle this Saturday. Check out the full interview below.
Interview With Harvey Roberts
We are closing in on fight night, Harvey. How is the whole process for you prepping for a fight and undergoing fight week? Am I assuming you’re totally used to it by now?
Yes, this camp has gone boss. I’m really happy with the progress I have made in my fitness and skill level. I just can’t wait to showcase it on September 10th.
Sept.10 will be your first time competing on FCC. What do you know about the show, if anything? Does it give you a new feel travelling and competing on new shows?
It’s exciting to be competing on a new show, as always. In my opinion, FCC, one of if not the best shows in the UK to showcase young talent and to be regarded as one of the ones to watch on the night, is like an extra boost of confidence which will help me to perform and get the win on Saturday night.
Harvey Roberts Talks Stian Aarvik Contest
We saw you secure a unanimous decision over Stian Aarvik at Almighty FC 24. Now with time to reflect, how do you feel the fight went overall? Anything, in particular, you have taken away from that?
I took a lot away from that fight. There were things that I did really well in order to secure a dominant win, but obviously, there were things to improve on from that night, and I’m lucky to have world classes coaches/training partners to bring me back down to earth and help me improve on those areas.
For those who have never witnessed you compete live before, what can those attending the Bolton Arena next weekend expect from you?
I have been without a fight for a while now, so all I can say is, if you haven’t watched me fight before. Expect a world-class display of violence. I am coming to hurt someone on fight night.
Talk to me about your opponent. What do you know about him, and how do you feel you match up against him?
Yes, he looks like a good opponent. A good striker, but obviously, he hasn’t fought for a while. So I’m expecting him to have made improvements all around as a fighter. That doesn’t matter to me; I just feel with the mindset and people I have around me, plus my skill level, I am an absolute problem for anyone at 145lbs.
Expectations for Michael Walters
Michael Walters has been out for some time, four years, I believe. Is it hard to prep for someone who’s been so inactive as of late? What do you anticipate he brings to the table?
I’m not too worried about their inactivity from Michael over the last few years. If I go out there and perform the way, I know how I will come away with another win on my record.
Lastly, can we get an official fight prediction?
I’m predicting a finish come Saturday night, whether it be by KO, TKO or submission. I know I can get the job done for my team. However, if I don’t get the finish again, expect a world-class display of violence. Harvey Roberts is coming.
