Hatef Moeil will defend his belt against number one ranked heavyweight Stuart Austin at OKTAGON 57 in Frankfurt on 4th May.
The challenger has a chance to become the first British OKTAGON champion, but he faces his toughest test yet in Hatef Moeil, who has not lost an MMA bout since 2018.
The Rise of Stuart Austin
Going on a three-fight win streak and submitting the former number-one ranked heavyweight, Adam Palasz, via an arm triangle, has earned Austin this opportunity.
Immediately after his win against Palasz, just under a month ago, “He-Man” knew he would be in line for a title shot next.
Austin said: “I want the f*cking belt. Hatef Moeil can f*cking suck it. I’m the champ I’m bringing it back to the UK.”
The “Boss” Hatef Moeil
Moeil became champion on his most recent outing in November, where he beat Lazar Todev via unanimous decision. The German will hope to stay unbeaten in OKTAGON, as well as a clean sweep over half of the top-ranked heavyweights, on 4th May.
The Card So Far
So far, OKTAGON has announced that Christian Eckerlin will face Miroslav Brož in a catchweight bout on the main card. While Eckerlin looks to bounce back from his decision loss to Leandro Silva, Broz will want to add to his five-fight win streak.
Also scheduled for the night in Frankfurt, featherweight champion Losene Keita moves up to lightweight to fight OKTAGON debutant, Agy Sardari. After the Belgian’s knockout victory over Niko Samsonidse, Sardari wants to spoil the party by starting his OKTAGON journey with a win.
