Heavyweight champion Jon Jones has another challenger for his GOAT status throne, however they are of a much smaller frame.
No, not Tom Aspinall the current interim champion neither the world renowned former champion Stipe Miocic but a viral sensation from Tennessee Hailey Welch. Since a viral interview Welch has been all over the globe on countless podcasts. The rise to fame has been rapid and she has inevitably fallen into the relatively ugly world of influencer boxing/fighting. She has also made appearances ringside at Jake Paul fights and at Karate Combat.
Hawk Tuah Girl Calls Jon Jones Out to Fight
On Instagram Welch has posted a video of her training at the Renzo Gracie LA gym. She spars her manager and comically asks Dana White for a contract in the caption. At the end of the video the internet star called out the heavyweight champion, “Jon Jones Where You At Motherf***er?”
Given the recent activity levels of Jones we think it’s stretch for the Tennessee native to get that fight. A recent call out of fellow influencer Jojo Siwa seems more achievable and it’ll probably appear on a Misfits event soon. The training in the video is for Muay Thai, now if she is going to compete in the influencer scene it will be the boxing route she would need to explore. Even the likes of Jake Paul whom has moved ever so slightly towards pro boxing is still understandably laughed at on a global scale when he mentions the likes of Canelo Alvarez as a future opponent. The only boxer he has ever faced has beaten him and that boxer was Tommy Fury, a man who will struggle to ever win a British title despite his family name.
