Former UFC champion Henry “Triple C” Cejudo has called out long-term rival Brandon Moreno for a fight at UFC 306.
Henry Cejudo Vs Brandon Moreno
Henry Cejudo made his return to the UFC after previously claiming retirement, to try and reclaim gold at UFC 288. He most recently fought Merab Dvalishvili and lost both of these bouts via decision. Despite these losses, Cejudo remains optimistic and has recently stated that he intents to stay and capture the title once again.
Brando Moreno is now coming off a loss too. The former flyweight champion lost a split-decision to Brandon Royval. The former champ also has no plans to halt his path to the title once again. Fans are left wondering who is next for “the assassin baby” after his most recent loss. Cejudo seemingly has just the plan.
Henry Cejudo Calls Out Brandon Moreno
In a recent You Tube video, Cejudo called out Moreno for a fight at UFC 306. In his mind, this will settle a core that spans back to 2016.
Cejudo stated “What fight would be better than Triple C vs Brandon Moreno, the Mexican-American vs the true Mexican, and they come together, and they do a five round showdown. At the Sphere, in Las Vegas, for Mexican Independence Day.”
“I like it. I think [if] there’s any way we should settle it, enough talking, enough cringing, enough antics, and enough all of that. The only way to get it on, Brandon Moreno, is I accept your challenge. Let’s do it, Mexican Independence Day. What you got? You going to sign that contract? Are you a Mexican, or a Mexican’t?”
Bold claims from Triple C, but he seems to be confident that this fight is a show stealer. It is without a doubt that a fight between the two would be fireworks. With Cejudo’s relentless wrestling pace, and Morenos elite grappling skills, fans would be in for a treat come UFC 306.
