Henry Cejudo takes another jab at Conor McGregor following the Irishman’s continuous legal troubles.
The Irishman’s next move is still up in the air, with no concrete plan for his return. McGregor was expected to return towards the end of the year to face Michael Chandler. However, after not entering the USADA testing pool in time, a return looms further away. As opposed to making his highly-anticipated return, McGregor has been in the news for other reasons. The UFC has been dealing with some legal issues after attending a Miami Heat game last month.
The Miami Heat incident as been documented over the last several weeks, with McGregor’s spokesperson commenting o the situation. Meanwhile, Cejudo is coming off a close loss to Aljamain Sterling in his UFC return fight for the bantamweight title. The 36-year-old was scheduled to face Marlon Vera in a quick turnaround in August, but a shoulder injury has prevented “Triple C” from competing.
In the past, Cejudo has not shied away from trolling and tearing into McGregor, even stating he’d be down to fight the former two-weight division champion. On Twitter, he was quick to throw another dig towards McGregor.
Henry Cejudo Slams UFC star Conor McGregor
“Hey “@TheNotoriousMMA I hope you win your upcoming Court Case…it’ll be the 1st win you get this decade.”
Cejudo’s last win in the UFC Octagon came in 2020 at UFC 249, where he stopped Dominick Cruz in the second round. As for McGregor, his last win came against Donald Cerrone in 2020 at UFC 246.
McGregor and Cejudo have never been on good terms, and despite the latter being willing to fight the Irish native, a fight between the pair is highly unlikely, given the large difference in weight. Instead, it would appear both will have their next outing in 2024.
For McGregor, he needs to jump through some hoops before actively returning to competition. At the same time, Cejudo needs to recover from injury.
