Henry Cejudo has mocked Sean Strickland for crying on a podcast. He doesn’t praise the UFC middleweight champion for being vulnerable.
Cejudo tells Strickland to toughen up and learn the game. On his YouTube show, Cejudo says, “Sean, I hope you can come to the consensus to be able to accept the fact that… you’re in this game bro. Learn how to play, don’t be [mocks crying]. You can’t man.”
Strickland was on Theo Von’s podcast, where he cried discussing childhood abuse. In the kitchen, he clung to his mom as his dad threatened violence. He talked about burning her face with acid. Strickland, in elementary school, heard threats of cutting and acid if she cheated. He stopped believing in God, stayed up late, and struggled in school. He contemplated suicide, questioning the existence benevolent higher power. Strickland reflected, “I can’t recall one good memory as a kid.”
Henry Cejudo Calls Out Alexander Volkanovski
Cejudo expressed his disapproval of Alexander Volkanovski openly discussing his anxiety during periods without fights, stating “Volkanovski is showing his cards that he goes through anxiety if he doesn’t fight. Like, what’s going on? Keep some of that information private,” Cejudo remarked with strong language.
He’s criticized emotional displays before, like when Tom Aspinall cried after winning the UFC interim heavyweight title. Cejudo said, “It’s an interim, Tom! Save those tears for when you actually win the real belt.”
He further commented, “Sometimes, when I see people like that, they just get too emotional after an interim belt. Yeah, you got a trophy, but they might as well dip that thing in either silver or bronze because it’s not the real thing.”
Interestingly, Cejudo cried when he won his Olympic medal, which he finds normal.
If you’re facing abuse, reach out for help. Don’t endure it alone. Contact friends, family or support organizations. Your safety is crucial, and there are people ready to assist you. You’re not alone, and seeking help is a brave step towards a safer life.
