With conversations of a rematch with former champ Volkanovski, Ilia has started to male clear his plans for 2025. Many fans are wondering what’s next for the champion. However, Topuria knows exactly what he wants, and has made that clear.

A recent interview saw Ilia lay out his ambitions for 2025. When he was asked about how much money he’d like to earn. he stated the following “Look, I can’t tell you that I have no doubt that in 2025, I will be the highest-paid athlete in the world. I have no doubt really”. When referencing Christian Ronaldo’s 130 million dollar projected earnings for this year, Ilia replied “Ill be there, I’d be surprised if I didn’t do that”.
What is Next For the champ at 145?
Ilia Topuria is on the trajectory to becoming one of UFC’s biggest stars, but highest paid athlete is a steep hill to climb. It’s well known that Topuria looked up to Conor McGregor’s style of selling fights, and often tries to replicate this in press conferences. This could be the path we see the current featherweight champ go down to reach these high figures. Whatever happens, fans are eager to hear of his return. Hopefully in the near future, we will see Ilia defend his title, and make a lot of money doing so.
