The rising star Ian Garry has said that his dream fight would be Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. The Irish sensation has recently put himself into the top ranked welterweights and is now possibly eyeing up some potentially amazing fights.
At UFC 292 we saw Ian Garry absolutely dominate Neil Magny. Garry provided the MMA world with a striking masterclass that had fans across the globe fall in love with the Irishman. After the fight, Ian Garry called out another kickboxing master Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. However, things seem to be changing as Wonderboy has set his sights on the former champion Kamaru Usman. This has left Garry wishing for his dream fight against Colby Covington
On the The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Garry said that Colby was his dream fight: ‘Colby Covington, Oh my god at home? The only thing that annoys me is that I’d have more fun doing that in Miami. In his backyard. Walk into Miami, slap the mouth off him in front of all his fans.’
He continued, ‘I have no problem playing the Heel. I’ve got no problem of going out there and being the bad guy for a weekend. At the end of the day, when I put him unconscious, I’m going to have a smile on my face.’

Could Ian Garry Beat Colby Covington?
Ian Garry is undoubtedly one of the most frighting strikers in the welterweight. He is also one of the fasting rising stars in the UFC. This is a recipe for an incredibly exciting fight no matter who he fights. His fight against Neil Magny showed how well Garry can throw any type of kicks and his boxing is fast and ruthless.
Colby Covington, while definitely not a bad striker by any means, is a relentless wrestler with an absolutely endless amount of cardio. You will have to kill Colby to stop him from fighting and his pressure never ceases. This could be an example of styles makes fights as this could be a classic striker v grappler fight.
If Ian Garry does get his dream fight, he will have to find a way to not let Covington get too close as he will swarm him with endless strikes and take downs. If Garry could use his height and range correctly, Covington will not be able to get close to him and Ian Garry could find his off switch
