Igor Severino has had a bite taken out of his paycheck!
Igor Severino Has Pay Withheld
As per a report from MMA Fighting, the Nevada State Athletic has decided to withhold Igor Severino’s fight purse. This is due to Igor Severino getting disqualified in his fight against André Lima for biting his opponent. The bite came in the 2nd round and initially, Igor denied biting Lima. However, after seeing Igor’s teeth marks on Lima, Chris Tognoni disqualified Severino giving Lima the win.
This information is coming to our attention from someone who is dealing with this situation. However, the person does not have the authority to disclose information to the public. This is why they are doing it anonymously. The amount of money Igor is missing out on is not clear due to NSAC not disclosing fighter pay to the public.
Dana White’s Reaction
When talking about this fight Dana White told MMA reporter Kevin Iole “If you get frustrated and want out of the fight, there are plenty of ways to do it, but the worst thing you can do is bite your opponent. Now you get cut and lose the biggest opportunity of your life, not to mention he’s going to have real problems with the NSAC.”

Igor Severino will face repercussions for his actions last weekend. Since the incident has occurred not only has Igor had his pay withheld from him. The UFC has officially released Igor from his contract because of this incident. He will also have to face more punishment from the NSAC when it holds its monthly meeting in April. This will most likely be a large fine and a suspension from the sport.
Lima, however, was still in good spirits after the fight was over. Lima will be the first fighter to get the “I got f*cking bit” bonus from UFC CEO, Dana White. He will initially going to be $25,000. After Dana White saw Lima go and get a tattoo of the bite mark. The bonus was later, increased to $50,000. This was due to Lima making Dana White laugh at getting the tattoo.
