Interview With Chris Sterling
August 20th is on the horizon. You recently posted a picture with “Tunnel Vision”. Tell us, what exactly is that vision as we close in on fight night?
Zoning in on my goals and, ultimately, my success in martial arts.
When not competing inside the cage. How much of a benefit do you feel entering these grappling matches is for your development as a complete mixed martial artist?
It’s all the same feelings as going into a MMA fight minus the punches/kicks. It sharpens my techniques and mind so I’m as ready as possible for high level competition.
For those I have never had the opportunity to speak with before, I like to pick their brain on why MMA. Why was this a path you decided to go on?
I’ve always been interested in and have enjoyed fighting for the good and bad since I was younger. I was a lost kid looking for something to focus on, and I found MMA.
Beau Gavin is the man who stands across from you in Barnsley. What do you know about your opponent, and how are you looking at this fight from a stylistic standpoint?
I feel I have more tools in all areas. The cool thing about fighting is we’ll see who’s right on the night.
All goes well on fight night. Have you thought about your plans for the remainder of the year in terms of competition?
I want to be very active leading up to the end of the year. I want to work my way up the ranks and take as many belts as possible.
Almighty FC 28, Chris Sterling vs Beau Gavin in Barnsley, how does it play out?
You’ll have to wait and see, but my hand will be raised.
