Interview With Isaac Benn
Closing in on your MMA debut, how are you feeling two weeks out from fight night?
I’m feeling good, feeling like I’ve prepared well so far, and training has been going great.
Tell the readers how long you have been training and how you knew the decision was right to make your debut?
I started coming to TFT last year at the end of summer after deciding to change over to MMA from boxing. I train a lot, sometimes having three sessions a day, and I feel like I’m improving a lot and taking in what Fisher teaches.
You recently had your first jits tournament coming fourth. Do you think that will help you manage the nerves ahead of October 1st? I know it’s an entirely different ball game, but can you take anything away from that?
I feel like it was just a bit of experience before I went into my first MMA fight.
Which fighter has inspired you the most to go and achieve great things in the sport? Who do you like watching?
I love watching Max Holloway. I just think his style of striking is mint.
The Rise of TFT
TFT is quickly establishing itself as one of the best gyms in the country. What’s it like training alongside the guys in the gym, and who’s been giving you the best work?
It’s class training with everyone in TFT. Everyone will help you. Ben Goldsborough has improved my striking a lot in the past few months and always gives me good work on the pads.
As it’s your first fight, I imagine the endless scenarios running through your head on a daily basis. What expectations do you have for yourself? Are you someone who’s relatively hard on yourself or the opposite?
I’ll do really well in the stand-up, winning in the exchanges. I’m also confident in my wrestling. I’ll be getting that first win under my belt.
Those uncertain about coming to watch, why should they tune in to watch Isaac Benn make his MMA debut, sell it to us?
It will be an amazing debut from start to finish, and I can’t wait to show off my skills and hard work in the cage. Everyone will love it.
A win sets you in a good place for the remainder of the year. If all goes well, will you be looking to get another fight under your belt before the year closes?
Yes, I would like another fight in December definitely and get all the experience I can whilst I’m young.
