Undefeated bantamweight Jack Cartwright is getting a shot to impress UFC head honcho Dana White on the Contender Series.
Jack Cartwright Set for DWCS Bout
Jack Cartwright has long been the UK’s premier bantamweight fighter. He has set the rumour mills ablaze recently after relinquishing his 135-pound title. The DWCS is a great opportunity for Cartwright to show an American audience what the SBG Manchester fighter is made of.
The unacquainted MMA fans should expect a well-rounded fighter who pressures his opponents into what is usually an early finish. The 10-0, 27-year-old prospect managed to defend his belt for Cage Warriors belt three times. Cartwright initially won the title on his debut in the form of a four-man, one-night tournament.
Including the tournament triumph throughout his combat career, including amateur fights, Cartwright has finished all but two of his 14 opponents. Eleven of them never made it out of the first round. Cartwright’s violent fighting style has endeared him to fans. This has led to fans often wondering about the fantasy match-ups that could be made in the UFC.
Names such as Sean O’Malley, Geoff Neal and Jake Hadley all came through the UFC Apex route to the UFC. Cartwright is a big name signing for the series. With Thomas Paul also already confirmed for the upcoming season, it will be a big one for the UK MMA scene.
