Former UFC Middleweight Jack “Hammer” Marshman announces his return to combat sports, after signing multi- fight contract with Bare Knuckle Boxing series BYB.
Jack Marshman: A Combat Sports Veteran
Jack Marshman has had over 30 professional MMA bouts, fighting all over the world in a range of promotions. Marshman burst onto the MMA scene where he captured both Cage Warriors and BAMMA middleweight gold. A later call up to the UFC saw Marshman fighting at the highest level, paving the way for the next generation of Welsh fighters. His final outing with the promotion saw him drop a decision loss to Sean Strickland in 2020. His record currently stands at 23-10.
Jack Marshman’s style is typically referred to as a brawler, which complements Bare Knuckle Boxing well. Although Marshman is well known for his MMA, he has always heavily imposed his boxing skills in the cage. From demonstrating one punch power during his UFC debut against Magnus Cedenblad. To showing an ability to outbox a heavy hitter like John Phillips back in 2019. Marshman has seen a variety of styles, and adjusted his game accordingly. Years of fight experience will hugely play into and aid his performance at BYB.
What’s Next?
Marshman recently took to social media to confirm his contract signing with BYB. Former Lonsdale British champ never shies away from a brawl. This is reflected in his MMA record, with 13 wins via KO/TKO. Fans can expect nothing short of fireworks when Marshman steps through the BYB ropes. With a strong established fanbase, this signing shows a big step forward for BYB, where more eyes are immediately drawn to the promotion.
It is likely that Marshman will debut with the promotion this summer. Details surrounding opponent and exact dates are yet to be confirmed, but fans will be eager to find out. What we do know is that whoever steps through those ropes, must be prepared for a fire fight.
The Rise of Bare Knuckle Boxing
Gone are the days where fans had to watch bare knuckle bouts around hay bales. The sport is rapidly growing globally with production value rising each time. A merging of BYB and BKB came earlier this month, showing firm plans to take this sport to the next level. Signings like Marshman show just how dedicated the team are to grow the promotion. BYB Extreme’s next outing is set for June 14th in Florida. As the sport continues to rise, fans can expect huge and exciting fights to take place under the banner.
