Jacob Wall enters his Golden Ticket Fight Promotions 24 contest as motivated as ever having recently fought for the promotion’s amateur title.
Golden Ticket look to close out the year in style this Saturday live from the K.K Steelmill in Wolverhampton. The countries best are set to challenge one another and make their way up the amateur and professional ranks.
Prior to fight night, we caught up with Jacob Wall who intends to put on a show, and finish 2023 with a bang. Hear his thoughts below.
Jacob Wall Ready for War at GTFP 24
Jacob, three months post your last bout on the last instalment of GTFP. How have things been since then?
Since then, I’ve been good. I just got straight back in the gym, and I got right back to work after my last fight. I was eager to get another fight booked and get back to winning ways.
Upon reflection, you dropped a unanimous decision to Joe Frodsham. How do you feel about that fight now, having had time to watch it back, and did you feel you’d done enough?
Last time out, I fell on the bad side of a close fight, going five rounds with a great opponent in Joe. I feel like I should have had a bit more urgency in the fight; I was too patient. In the moment, I felt like the decision could have swung my way, but you never really know sometimes.
How much benefit and the experience as a whole of fighting five-rounds and fighting for a belt will give you moving forward? What valuable lessons have you taken away from that?
I learnt a lot from that fight; first of all, I know I have the ability to keep a high pace with anyone for five rounds. I’m really aiming to get a good win streak going and work my way back to fighting for the gtfp title again, whether it’s Joe who still has the belt or anyone else; I put him in danger a number of times, and I know I have what it takes to become a champion at this level, and in one judge’s eyes I am the gtfp flyweight champion.
Saturday Night, and Being Back to Winning Ways
This marks the first time in your amateur career that you’ve dropped back-to-back fights. What do you need to do on Saturday night to ensure that it doesn’t hit three and you return to winning ways?
Saturday night, I need to be switched on fully and on my game, me at my best. You can put me in there against anyone, and I’m going to be dangerous from bell to bell. Dropping two in a row sucks. I’ve learnt a lot from both losses, and both were great opponents. I need to be ready for anything and ready to capitalise on any opportunity to get me back in the win column.
Mohammed Jano is the man who stands in your way on Saturday night. When Dan came to you with this matchup, what were your initial thoughts on him as a fellow competitor and the matchup as a whole?
It didn’t matter who the name was; I was just happy to have a fight. Mohammad is a dangerous fighter, from what I have seen from him. He’s a difficult man to research as a lot of his past fights are filmed from cage side, but I believe I know what to expect on Saturday. I know he’s training at a great gym now that he is here in the UK, so I’m expecting a high level of everything and for him to be a truly well-rounded fighter. Either way, I’m going to work my game and walk away with the win.

The fans know what to expect when Jacob Wall fights. It’s always going to be action-packed from start to finish, but I can’t just go out there and have a great fight, take a loss and move on; I’m coming for the win. Expect dominance I’m bringing the best version of myself on Saturday night. I’ve worked so hard for this you’ll see an experienced and dangerous me, and I’m aiming to get cap off 2023 with a big finish and keep the wins coming in 2024.
