Jake Hadley makes his UFC debut on May 14th at a UFC fight night against slick submission artist Allan Nascimento. The card is headlined by former light heavyweight king Jan Blachowicz, as he takes on Serbian contender Aleksandar Rakic.
Who is Jake Hadley?
Originally scheduled to fight at UFC London, Hadley left disappointed as injuries forced the bout to be rescheduled and will be looking to shine.
“White Kong” comes highly touted as a potential superstar, boasting an 8-0 fight record at the age of 25. After impressing with a second-round rear-naked choke win on the contender series over Mitch Raposo, he earned a roster spot.
Prior to the win, Jake Hadley was the reigning Cage Warriors flyweight champion at just 23-years-old. He had even already recorded a victory in Bellator.
Bellator 227 in Dublin was a card filled with UK stars like Micheal “Venom” Page, Peter Queally and James Gallagher. Hadley won handily and will be looking to make a name just as his fight card compatriots did. With Mokaev showing the UFC audience the level of the new UK lighter weight class fighters, many will have a keen eye on Hadley.
Who is Hadley Fighting?
In his first test, Hadley is fighting Brazilian Allan Nascimento, a chute boxe fighter looking to rebound following a tough loss in his UFC debut. Most prominently, “Puro Osso” is known for his BJJ skills, with six first-round submissions on his resume, from his time on the South American MMA circuit.
Like his opponent, Hadley himself is a dominant grappler. He looks to finish from top positions in a manner Georges St-Pierre himself would be proud of.
Nascimento does have the ability to be Hadleys Matt Hughes if he isn’t focused at all times. That makes for a very interesting prelim affair.
The fight is sure to be a good one, who have you got winning?
