Jake Hadley was unsuccessful in his UFC debut. He lost a unanimous decision to Allan Nascimento. Here’s how it played out.
The Fight
Round 1: Jake Hadley storms the centre of the octagon. Allan keeps on the outside throwing a heavy kick. Both men are throwing heavy leather until Nacsimento catches a kick and trips Jake. Jake manages to secure guard and use an omoplata to sweep and end up on top. Nascimento attempts a heel hook that leads to a tangle where both men land heavy shots. Allan keeps the leg wrapped but Hadley moves on top. Jake gets swept and Allan rides the round out in top position.
Round 2: Jake once again storms the centre and looks to do damage on the feet. His forward pressure is met with a big knee and some heavy kicks from Allan. After a brief exchange, Allan gets the fight to the mat and looks to go to work. Both trade shots, but Hadley looks for opportunities to sweep or gain a submission. Nascimento remains heavy on top. Jake regains his feet, both men clinch against the cage to end the round.
Round 3: Hadley comes flying out the gate, after losing the first two rounds. Nascimento wants none of the stand-up and shoots in for a takedown, but Hadley reverses and ends up with his own. Now on top Hadley is searching for the neck, and looks to have it. Allan remains calm and composed and manages to survive and get Jake off his back. Now on top Allan continues to do as he did in rounds one and two. Back to the feet, Nascimento tries to return to the canvas. A big scramble sees Hadley end up on top. Unfortunately, this doesn’t last for long. Allan ends the third on top landing some big shots.
What’s Next?
Tasting defeat for the first time. Jake will no doubt be back. A tough outing against a much more experienced fighter saw Jake come out the loser in a decision. Not outclassed, Hadley still had plenty of moments, showing that he can compete at this level. Despite not getting the win Jake Hadley will be back, and better than ever next time out.
With the world’s premier MMA organisation returning to London this July. Hadley will be looking to make a quick turnaround and get the home country welcome he was previously set for.
