Jake Paul has his eyes locked on his future opponents, and are as diverse as they are ambitious.
Jake Paul Speaks to Teddy Atlas
The 25-year-old continues to move into the competitive space of boxing and has plans for up to six more bouts. Speaking to Teddy Atlas on the The Fight podcast, he outlined his prospective opponents.
The six-name shortlist varies in ability, experience and age. They all share an attachment to established careers, followings, or both. This means that wins against one or all six of the aforementioned fighters are likely to go some way toward legitimizing his boxing career.
Teddy Atlas acknowledged that fighters and fans view the fights as a ‘circus’. This is not a position that Teddy Atlas shares. Instead, he sees it as an alternative to traditional events. He compared Paul’s influence on boxing to that of the first Rocky movie saying, ” you bought eyeballs to the sport that might not have been here.”
Tony Bellew Hits at Jake Paul
The validity of his character and combat sports skills is a topic of hot debate. Tony Bellew, former WBC cruiserweight champion, had his say on Twitter.
Paul wants to leave no question, “Make boxing great again, you know. I’ll slowly earn more people’s respect.”
Facing the fighters in question is likely to leave fans with a definitive conclusion as to those questions. Who do you want to see Paul fight?
