Jake Paul wasted no time responding to Nate Diaz’s callout following his fight with Jorge Masvidal last night.
Jake Paul Says Nate Diaz Ducked MMA Fight
Following his win over Jorge Masvidal last night at Last Man Standing, Nate Diaz hopped on the mic to call out his former foe, Jake Paul. The two squared off last August in a fight filled with memorable moments and controversy. Paul emerged victorious that night, securing a Unanimous Decision win over the MMA star.
While there was talk of the two facing off in a potential MMA match, things never came to fruition. After Diaz’s call-out last night, Paul quickly uploaded a video to Twitter, where he accused Nate Diaz of ducking a massive offer to fight in the PFL.
Paul signed with the PFL back in January of 2023 to fight in MMA but is yet to have a fight scheduled.
Potential Rematch?
Jake Paul is scheduled to face Mike Perry in less than 2 weeks on July 20th. Paul was originally scheduled to face boxing legend Mike Tyson but Tyson was forced to withdraw following a health scare. Tyson/Paul was rebooked for November of this year pending Mike Tyson’s recovery and health.
Perry projects to be one of Paul’s hardest opponents to date, holding a 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing with a relentless pace and grueling style. If Paul stays healthy following his fights to end the year, we could see a rematch between Paul and Diaz in early-mid 2025.
With all that said, Diaz’s win very well could have put a future rematch between the two on the horizon.
