Jake Paul sat ringside, joining Wade Plemons on commentary for Tommy Fury’s fight and had some harsh words to say about his performance.
What Went Down
Jake Paul was announced as a special guest for the Mayweather vs Deji event last night in Dubai. It was here that he joined the commentary team and slated Tommy Fury during his fight.
Paul could be heard shouting, “this guy sucks. You’re an amateur still” he later went on to say, “you fu**ing suck”, as the fight ended.
Tommy Fury did not take lightly to this and called out Jake immediately after his fight, shouting, “there’s a certain bi**h at ringside that I want in this ring now”. Fury shouted, “get in the ring now”, until he eventually tried to climb through the ropes to Jake Paul. Held back by security, Fury continued to shout back and forth with Paul.
As John Fury looked on, he noticeably became angry and riled up. Paul gestured for him to meet him outside the ring, leading to John Fury removing his shirt and attempting to climb through the ropes.
The crowd in Dubai were fired up as John Fury began to shadow box and stated, “forget me, son, I’m the king of the bare-knuckle man. I could fight Mike Tyson to the death”. Paul responded with, “no one cares about you. You’re a fat, miserable old man”. Security subsequently managed the altercation, which separated both parties and continued with the event.
Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul
This fight has been scheduled twice before and has never gone ahead.
The first bout was due to take place in 2021, where Tommy pulled out from the fight citing a broken rib and chest infection.
After this, the fight was rescheduled for August this year. Tommy again pulled out of the fight citing travel issues. The fight was due to take place in Madison Square Garden. Tommy stated he had issues getting a visa for travel to America. Ever since then, Paul and Fury have continued to go back and forth with each other on social media.
Tommy Fury has been carving his path into boxing, currently holding an undefeated record of 8-0 with 4 KOs. He has aspirations of becoming a world champion and believes that he can follow in his brother’s footsteps. As for a fight with Jake Pau, this does little for his path to the championship but would boost his stardom and mainstream notoriety.
