Jake Paul has questioned how Nate Diaz’s striking ever hurt anyone in his MMA career, after their boxing match last weekend, in Dallas, Texas. Speaking on Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, ‘The Problem Child’ couldn’t work out how the likes of Conor McGregor got rocked by Diaz in either of their two fights, in the UFC.
“I don’t think he (McGregor) is a good fighter,” said Paul. “After I seen what Nate Diaz did to him, hurting him, like bro, how did Nate Diaz hurt anyone with his punches in his whole entire career?”
Paul even claimed that Diaz could have hit him clean on the chin, as hard as he wanted, and it wouldn’t hurt him.
The potential Jake Paul-Nate Diaz MMA rematch
After the fight, Paul offered Diaz a rematch; this time in MMA. However, it wouldn’t be under the UFC banner that the Stockton, California native is so synonymous with. It would, instead, be with the MMA promotion that Paul is partnered with, the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
Jake Paul announced in January that he would be partnering with the PFL, and as part of it he would be competing inside a cage in the newly formed ‘Super Fight’ division; a division that guarantees that the fighters would earn 50% of their events’ revenues.
Diaz, despite a very lucrative $10million offer, snubbed the fight.
Despite his lack of MMA experience, Paul seemed to fancy his chances in the proposed rematch because of his opponents apparent lack of power. He implied that, if Diaz couldn’t hurt him in boxing, he wouldn’t have been able to hurt him in MMA either.
“The heavier gloves are actually more dangerous,” said Paul. “Would you rather get hit with a 10 pound sledgehammer or a five pound sledgehammer? Also, with a bigger surface area, the trauma gets passed into a bigger surface area, which creates more of an impact on your head.”
