Jake Paul has expressed his disapproval of Conor McGregor’s decision to let go of Mike Perry from BKFC. Paul described the move as “f**ked up.”
Paul (10-1) faced Perry (0-2) in an eight-round cruiserweight match on Saturday night in Tampa Bay. This highly anticipated bout drew attention from all corners of the combat sports world.
Ahead of the fight, UFC star and BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor publicly supported Mike Perry, known as the ‘King of Violence.’ During the BKFC Spain press conference McGregor shared his hopes for Perry to emerge victorious against Paul. He stated:
“You can make a new name for yourself. Look at what has happened to Mike Perry. One of our big stars, ‘The King of Violence’ he titles himself. You know, he’s had such a rise in the sport and now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend. We’re all rooting for him! This [man] is the real deal.”
Jake Paul Reacts After Conor McGregor Fires Mike Perry From BKFC
Despite McGregor’s endorsement, Perry couldn’t withstand Jake Paul’s strength and size. On Saturday night in Florida, ‘The Problem Child’ knocked Perry down twice in the first two rounds. By round six, Paul delivered a final blow that sealed his victory.
Jake Paul’s performance was met with some criticism from other professionals, who pointed out his size advantage over Perry. Yet, it was undeniably a dominant display from Paul.
In a surprising twist, Conor McGregor reversed his support for Perry after the fight. The Irishman took to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to announce that he was firing ‘Platinum’ from BKFC.
Jake Paul addressed McGregor’s decision during the post-fight press conference. He commented,
“Hey, that’s fked up that you fired your BKFC champion, but I told you that was going to happen. You know, I told you exactly what was going to happen and he was big upping his boy Mike Perry. So, I said ‘Ok Conor, after I fk up Mike Perry then you’re next!’. So Conor’s on Twitter all the time, Conor’s on his yacht all the time, but guess where he’s not? In the ring, fighting me. So he can talk all the sh*t he wants, but the Notorious MMA is scared of Jake Joseph Paul from Disney channel.”
The question now on everyone’s mind is whether we will ever see Jake Paul and Conor McGregor face off in the ring. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
