Jake Paul casually rides into his open work session riding a horse ahead of his blockbuster boxing bout with Anderson Silva.
As fans have seen in the past, Paul doesn’t like to do things by the books. On Wednesday evening, he entertained the audience attending in Phoenix by making an entrance on horseback. When asked about the decision, Paul claimed he wanted to put himself in that old-age mindset of going to war.
“I’m going to war. I feel like a warrior, like a gladiator,” he said. “That’s really what this is on Saturday as I am going to war. This is one of toughest fighters in the world, a combat sports legend. It’s not going to be an easy fight, so I’ve got to come in on the horse like I’m prepared for battle. don’t even know [what the horse is called] as I just met the thing a couple of minutes ago. I didn’t even take it for dinner but I did say I would take it for dinner afterwards though, I am a gentleman.”
Jake Paul Rides into Open Workouts on a Horse
Although Paul was all for the idea of entering riding a horse, his coach, BJ Flores revealed he wasn’t too keen due to the idea of something going wrong and injuring his student: “I wasn’t crazy about it, but Jake is always very unconventional, and he does his own thing,” Flores said. “He just likes doing crazy stuff. I did worry about that type of stuff in the beginning, and now it’s kind of just like, look, I’m going to just sit back and chill. Only worrying about the things I can control as Jake is going to be Jake. I’m going to let him be himself.”
Despite being 47 years old, Silva is, without a doubt, the biggest test Paul has faced thus far in his young career. Silva dominated the world of mixed martial arts for numerous years breaking records with his flashy and effective style of striking.
“He’s awkward, unorthodox, likes to have fun and dance in the ring,” Paul said. “We had sparring partners that emulated his style as much as possible, but all of that goes out of the window when you are getting pieced up. He can do all of that fun stuff and the awkwardness, but there are parts of the body that don’t move.”
