Internet Boxing Sensation, Jake Paul, has responded to UFC president Dana White’s comments on last weekends fight. Paul fought UFC legend Nate Diaz in a hard fought 10-round encounter on August 5th. With Paul taking a Unanimous Decision victory. After the fight White expressed his opinions on the fight.
Dana White Responds to Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz
Post-fight, Dana gave his praise to Diaz by saying; “For a kid pushing 40 years old, fighting a guy four weight classes bigger than him in boxing and two in MMA, and going the distance at his age against a 20-something-year-old kid, so far he’s fared the best out of everybody. He looked good. I’m happy for him.”
Nate Diaz made his professional boxing debut in this bout having left the UFC earlier this year. Back in 2021, former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, did the exact same. Before that fight, White didn’t have anything nice to say about Woodley before brandishing the fight as ‘bull**it’. So his response to the August 5th fight would obviously have been a surprise.
Paul took to Twitter arlier today, to give his take, by saying; Focus on taking care of @Wonderboy MMA purse. He’s pushing 41, you matched him against a 28 year old who totally disregarded the weight and you wanted to pressure him to fight.”
‘The Problem Child’ is talking about UFC Welterweight contender; Stephen Thompson, AKA ‘Wonderboy’. Who was matched up with Brazilian Michel Pereira. In a fight that was ultimately cancelled due to Pereira missing weight.
Dana White on Wonderboy Not Being Paid
News broke earlier today, that Wonderboy would not receive his show money.
In the media run for Contender Series week 1, White was quoted as saying; “We always make sure that we take care of everybody… We’re working it out with Wonderboy rightnow… This should all be worked out by Saturday.”
So time will tell what happens.
