On Sunday, Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury will finally face off inside the ring, a fight that has been in the making for over a year. They headline a five-fight main card from Diriyah, Saudi Arabia which includes a championship bout in the co-main event. In the UK, the card is available for purchase on BT Sport Box Office. Whereas, in the US, ESPN+ PPV will broadcast the clash.
The main event sees Jake Paul (6-0, 4 KOs) take on Tommy Fury (8-0, 4 KOs.) A contest that has been brewing since December 2021. ‘The Problem Child’ is coming off of a win over former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. While Fury’s most recent bout came against Daniel Bocianski in April 2022. The former social media stars were scheduled to face one another in 2021 and 2022 but postponements on the side of the Brit have delayed it until now. In addition, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced that a win for either man will see them added to the WBC cruiserweight rankings.
In the co-main event, WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu (29-2, 25 KOs) defends his title for the third time when he squares off against former WBC and WBA cruiserweight champion Badou Jack (27-3-3, 16 KOs). The rest of the card sees three undefeated fighters put their records on the line. Ziyad Almaayouf (1-0, 1 KO) takes on Ronald Martinez (3-1), Muhsin Cason (10-0, 7 KOs) fights Taryel Jafarov (18-5, 17 KOs), and Bader Samreen (7-0, 6 KOs) battles Viorel Simion (23-9, 9 KOs).
The main card gets underway at 6:30 pm GMT/1:30 pm ET with the main event ring walks set for approximately 9:30 pm GMT/4:30 pm ET.
