In an exclusive sit-down interview with TNT Sports‘ Adam Catterall, Jamahal Hill sheds light on his impending return to the octagon, where he gears up to face reigning champion Alex Pereira in a highly anticipated light-heavyweight title clash at UFC 300.
Amidst the buzz surrounding the event, Hill opens up about feeling undervalued in the lead-up to the fight, expressing his resolve to silence doubters and reclaim the crown he was forced to vacate due to injury.
As he prepares for his headline bout with Alex Pereira at UFC 300, Jamahal Hill doesn’t hold back regarding the lack of respect he’s encountered.
With Pereira being the clear favourite, having clinched the title with a TKO victory over Jiri Prochazka, Hill finds himself in the underdog position. His previous championship reign was cut short by an Achilles tendon injury sustained during a casual basketball game.
Jamahal Hill Ready to Silence UFC 300 Doubters
Reflecting on his journey leading up to this moment, Hill reminisces about his victorious bout against Glover Teixeira in Brazil in January 2023, which earned him the light-heavyweight belt. Now faced with his third consecutive Brazilian opponent, Hill is eager to reaffirm his success prior to injury by reclaiming the throne he still believes is his.
Acknowledging the feeling of being overlooked, Hill admits to feeling uneasy by the disregard for his accomplishments and sacrifices. He knows there’s one way to shut the door on those doubting him, and that’s by performing at UFC 300:
“There’s some annoyance, there’s a chip there. I want to go in and show who I truly am at my peak form. I believe at my peak form, there’s nobody close to me.”
Hill adds he holds no animosity towards Pereira for capitalizing on the opportunity presented by his injury-induced hiatus. He sees it as a part of the business and evolution of the sport, expressing admiration for Pereira’s achievements:
“I’ve enjoyed it. I’m a fan… I’m not a hater. I want to see people accomplish their goals. I want to see everybody make it, fulfilling their dreams,” Hill states.

“Domination. It’s what I come with every time… I’ve stood for domination the entire time I’ve been active fighting,” he asserts, leaving no doubt about his intentions this Saturday in Las Vegas.
