Almighty FC 25 has announced an amateur lightweight bout, set to take place on the 28th of May at the Metrodome in Barnsley. The promotion has gone hell for leather, planning two events in a month, the second taking place on the 28th of June. Each event is as exciting as the other. Fans can expect to see a mix of amateurs making a name for themselves and professionals clashing at their best.
James Cottier vs Ethan Hill
Jamie Cottier (2-0-0) is going into Almighty FC 25, having competed twice under the promotion’s banner. He is undefeated in his two outings and looking to add to that momentum. Behind the fighter is his gym, and a great one at that. Cottier trains at NextGeneration MMA Liverpool, one of the most competitive gyms in England. Cottier works alongside the likes of Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett, two UFC stars. He has won two unanimous decisions since his debut on the 18th of September, 2021. His game incorporates effective takedowns, and he is hard to submit, methodically escaping any attempts. However, Cottier is especially talented in the striking aspect of the game. He utilises his jab to great effect, manages his range and dominates the octagon with his presence. Cottier is a name to remember.
Ethan ‘Wisdom’ Hill (1-1-0) entered the octagon for the first time in February 2020. The debutant charged across the octagon, brawling with his opponent. Hill put forth an exhibition of violence, deploying kickboxing combinations and knees to the body with devastating effects. His second bout saw him take a similar approach, exchanging shots with his opponent. He dropped his opponent momentarily, unleashing a well-timed right hand, and looked likely to do it again. However, despite landing the more effective shots, he was taken down in the second round and swiftly submitted. Looking for a win and training at Submission MMA he works alongside just the man to help him, Joe Ambler. Ambler is arguably England’s finest amateur middleweight, having been champion in two promotions. With the experience of his training partners and the work he puts in, this bout is not to be missed.
