On the 30th of September, FCC 30 will go underway, hosted at the Bolton Arena.
Matchmaking for this event began in the wake of FCC 29. The most recent event lay host to some of the finest amateur prospects in Europe and budding professionals. It was a success, surpassing the high bar the promotion set itself. The promotion plans to repeat and build on its most recent success at FCC 30.
Most recently, the promotion has booked an amateur welterweight bout. The fight in question is being contested by two undefeated welterweight prospects on the amateur circuit, Jamie Davies and Mehilek Techane.
Jamie Davies vs Mehilek Techane
The fighters in question have been nothing short of dominant in their respective performances this far. Neither is losing a fight. However, that is to come to an end within three rounds of the action.
Jamie Davies (2-0-0) is no stranger to FCC, having fought both his fights at the promotion and seemingly has found his home. Jamie Davies debuted at FCC 26, as a middleweight, and walked away with a frightening KO/TKO victory. Having a successful debut, Jamie Davies, dropped to welterweight to compete at FCC 27. The weight class may have changed, although the result remained the same. The Monkey House MMA fighter spent less than 140 seconds in the octagon before finishing his opponent via ground and pound. Going into his third fight with the promotion we may see Jamie Davies make some noise regarding title opportunities should he win in decisive fashion.
Across the octagon will be Menilek Techane (2-0-0), an equally impressive welterweight prospect. Having debuted in October 2019, Menilek Techane fought a hard two rounds against Shaun Caswell (1-1-0 at the time) and caught a submission win in the third round. It was an impressive debut to go two rounds and find a finish in the closing minutes. Unfortunately, his second fight, owing to reasons outside his control, did not take place until March this year. He fought to a decision win against Geoff Parvey, turning up his nose at the idea of ring rust. Fighting out of Team Renegade gym, Menilek Techane will be hoping to capitalise on a strong return to the octagon and remain undefeated, putting welterweights on notice.
FCC 30: Don’t Miss Out
Following the magnitude and success of FCC 29, the excitement for the next event is likely to reach a fever pitch in the weeks approaching FCC 30. The announcement of this welterweight bout is indicative of what to expect from the promotion in the lead-up to their 30th event, good matchmaking and the best prospects available.
