Jared Gordon is on Standby in Case Paddy Pimblett needs a Short- Notice opponent at UFC 314
December 10th, 2022, Jared “Flash” Gordon lost a unanimous decision to Paddy “the Baddy” Pimblett. Setting off a chain of events that have Flash hoping for the worst-case scenarios at UFC 314. Although Gordon has not seen the cage since June of 2024. Where Flash lost a split decision to Nasrat Haqprast. Gordon is hoping that in 2025, he can finally avenge his loss to Pimblett in a short-notice brawl in Miami for UFC 314. But for that to happen, Iron Michael Chandler would have to fall out of his fight with Pimblett. That is pretty improbable since Chandler has never pulled out of a fight in his 23-9 career.
Gordon Set to Return in April
Gordon has Ben hunting this rematch since the loss to the Baddy. And with Pmblett knocking off King Green and Tony Ferguson. To earn Pimblett a spot in the top 15 and force Gordon to wait for his chance. And the chance might be closer than he knows with his recent fight on February 15th, falling out. Flash was left with a question. When will you return? The answer came in an interview with Home of Fight. The UFC told Gordon he will be back in April, so with that Gordon hopes for one specific scenario. ” I doubt it, unless my teammate Chandler falls off the ard and I get my rematch with Paddy. I’ve been manifesting it. No offense to Mike, he’s my buddy, but you know, that’s how opportunities come about, and you have to seize the moment, so of course, in my mind, I’m like,e I want it to happen.” As he laughed it off Gordon went on to say he will be supporting his teammate, but that hasn’t stopped him from crossing his fingers that Chandler does not show up. “I think it’s gonna be a great fight and I’m rooting for Mike, he’s my teammate but you know, I just want him to for some reason have an emergency and pull off the card and I’m walking around like 171,172 I can make weight on four, five, three days notice. I’m ready, bro.”
Jared Gordon’s Keys To Victory at UFC 314
UFC 314 in Miami is arriving fast. And Gordon has a few keys for both Pimblett and Chandler to realize victory. Flash believes that this match-up will come down to discipline. Not just that but they styles as well. Pimblett Gordon notes throws spinning attacks and hunts the finish. Whereas Chandler has a more aggressive crowd-pleasing style similar to that of a gladiator. Chandler sometimes tends to sacrifice a victory for entertainment points with the crowd. If he does this against Pimblett, it will be a very short night in the office at UFC 314 live on April 12th, in Miami Fl.
