Cage Warriors added another matchup to their CW 141 event on the 22nd July card. They have announced a welterweight bout between the undefeated Jesse Urholin and Madars Fleminas. Both the fighters are expected to go to war and for Fleminas, it’s an attempt to build momentum.
Jesse Urholin
The undefeated Urholin has had quite a start to his mixed martial arts career raking up eight straight victories. Six of them coming via stoppages, including four TKO victories and two submissions. With the remaining two of them going into the hands of judges. Three of his fights have been for the Cage Warriors Promotion.
Before his MMA career, the Finnish prodigy had been an active and accomplished grappler in the European scene. He has wrapped up medals at IBJJF World & European Championship and has also been an ADCC European Trials Champion in 2014 and 2016. One can expect that he will look to replicate his usual heavy grappling style. Mixed with suffocating top pressure and ground & pound to show he is one of the best prospects in Europe’s biggest MMA promotion.
Urholin might be on the verge of a future title shot if he puts up a dominating performance against the 34-year-old Fleminas. The fight fans know it won’t be an easy contest though between the two game opponents.
Madars Fleminas
Madars Fleminas enters this fight off a stoppage victory last December against Oban Eliott at Cage Warriors 131. The Bateman Mixed Martial Arts standout will look to continue his momentum against a tough task in Urholin. The “Latvian Express” has had a mixed run inside the promotion with a combined record of 3 wins and 3 losses. He is overall 9-3 in his pro MMA career.
At one point in time, Fleminas was an undefeated prospect with a 7-0 record. Up until he faced fellow welterweight Adam Proctor in a number one contender bout at Cage Warriors 112. Fleminas has shown in patches, how versatile he can be already in his professional career. He’s displayed the submission offence needed to pressure fighters on the mat but has also shown he has power behind his punches.
Cage Warriors 141
CW 141 takes place on 22nd July at the O2 Arena, in London, England. Upto this point in time, 5 fights have been added to the event. With Kyle Driscoll and George Hardwick fighting for the promotion’s vacant lightweight title. The event also marks the return of former UFC veteran, Darren Stewart who is set to fight Mick Stanton in a middleweight bout.
