Jiri Prochazka vs Glover Teixeira Set for UFC 282
Back in June of this year, Jiri and Glover had a back-and-forth competitive fight. Both fighters had their moments in this fight, and it looked like it could have gone either way. In the end, Jiri secured a fifth-round victory with a rear naked choke which crowned him a champion. Now six months later, Jiri will make his first title defence, and Glover will get a chance at revenge and his belt back.
Since joining the UFC back in 2020, the newly crowned champ, Jiri Prochazka, has looked extremely dangerous and exciting. Although Prochazka has not been in the UFC for very long, he has sure made himself stand out with finishes in all his fights, including the spinning back elbow on Dominick Reyes. Considering Jiri is only 29, is 3-0 in the organisation and is just starting his title reign, it’s exciting to see what his potential is. His unique style is must-watch entertainment and a guarantee for a fight you will want to watch.
Glover Teixeira has been in the UFC since UFC 146 and is a true pioneer and legend of the game. Glover has had a career full of ups and downs. This meant when he finally captured the belt against Jan Blachowicz, it felt like a validating moment for him. Glover was on a six-fight run, which culminated in him taking the belt from Jan. In these six fights, he finished 5 of them, four by submission, and one was the memorable beat down of Anthony Smith. Now pushing 43, the Brazillian is still proving to people he has what it takes to be a world champion.
