Joe Ellias is expecting a complete shut out from himself at Badmofo 7, when he locks horns with Curtis Inns.
The pair are scheduled to clash this Saturday in the Barnsley Metrodome. BMF 7 is looking to be an unmissable card stacked with some of the best prospects in the country, including the juniors portion of the fight-card.
Ahead of fight night, we had the chance to catch up with Joe Ellias to see how he feels about his fight.
Interview With Joe Ellias
Joe, you’re back to work this Saturday in Barnsley. How have things been since your last appearance on the show?
It has been really good, thanks; got straight back to training the next few days, kept busy and had a great summer abroad in Jordan. I was looking to get back in quickly, so I kept training all throughout
Let’s talk about your last outing, BMF 6. You defeated Stevie Guest. How pleased were you with that outing? Was there anything you weren’t pleased with?
I was really pleased with how dominant it was. Put on a solid display of mma grappling and controlled the fight everywhere. I definitely felt like I could’ve let my hands go a bit more and respected his striking too much without crediting my own enough.
Prior to that, you’d been out of MMA competition for over a year. Although you got the result, did you find any issues with ring-rust when in there, or was it like you never left?
No, thankfully, I felt great; even while out, I was always training, so I improved a lot, and I loved being in there.
Clash of Styles
You’ll face Curtis Inns, who always makes his long-awaited return. What do you know about your opponent, and how do you feel your styles clash?
I know he’s well-rounded and has finishes everywhere. I feel our styles clash well, and it’ll be a fun matchup.
Do you feel Inn’s lack of activity recently will play a factor in the fight?
I doubt it, as it didn’t play a factor for me, so I reckon he’s excited to be coming back.
Your opponent’s been out for some time and has more than likely added to his game. What can you take away from his previous fights, considering he’s been out for so long?
I think he’s definitely going to have improved and added to his game. I don’t think previous fights will show much, and once we’re in there, I’ll be working with what’s in front of me; I’m more confident in my own skills and the high-level sparring I’ve been getting at AVT that’s prepared me.
Saturday night, what can the fans expect from you?
The fans can expect a high level of technical performance; I always look to dominate in every aspect of the fight, and Saturdays are no different.
