Joe Rogan snubbed Jon Jones out of his top three greatest UFC fighter picks.
The American who has commentated since the early days of the UFC has seen his fair share of world class fighters.
However, Rogan did mention it was a hard choice to make given how many fighters he could choose on his YouTube channel the Joe Rogan podcast.
Joe Rogan Details Top Three UFC Fighters
Speaking on his podcast Joe Rogan, the American detailed his top three UFC fighters of all time. Rogan said; “You gotta look at them in this window of time. And sometimes it’s just a few years where they’re accomplishing things in a way that it’s extraordinary you go, ‘I’ve never seen anybody better’. Anderson Silva, when he was in his prime, he was operating at a different speed than [his opponents]. He was processing things with like a 2024 computer, and they were using a Windows ’95.
Joe Rogan continued the conversation and detailed the legacy of Demetrious Johnson. The UFC commentator said; “When he was in his prime, “Mighty Mouse” was a m********** to watch. He would do s*** that no one could do. There’s not a champion alive that can do that [suplex] the way “Mighty Mouse” can do that. When [Johnson] fought [Henry] Cejudo the first time, it was a masterclass. I maintain that he is the finest expression of martial arts I have ever seen.
The last pick the veteran picked was Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Russian finished with a perfect 27-0 record in MMA. Joe Rogan said; “That’s just how good Khabib was (on his wins over Poirier & Gaethje). He’s so good. It’s almost a tragedy that he never wants to fight again. He’ll go out, without a doubt, as one of the greatest to ever do it. If not the best ever, he’s definitely in the argument.”
Jon Jones Snubbed by Veteran UFC Commentator
Whilst Jon Jones didn’t make the list, Joe Rogan did maintain that there were so many fighters that he could have picked. Highlighting Connor McGregor, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier as some of the other fighters he could have picked.
Whilst the veteran UFC commentator may not have picked the heavyweight champion as his top three UFC fighters, Dana White has labelled the American as the greatest. White has been highly vocal of his opinion as Jones is the best mixed martial artist the sport has seen.
