This week, Jon Jones took to Twitter to start sending shots toward the former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. A fight between these gentlemen has been rumored for a while now, it seems Jones is eager for the fight. The top of the heavyweight division has been in disarray since Francis defended his belt in January against Ciryl Gane. The champ has been recovering from a knee injury and still has not yet got a return date. This puts Jon and Stipe in a position where if they fight the winner will surely go on to fight for the belt. Although UFC 282 is confirmed to be headlined by Glover and Jiri. Jon seems to be okay with not headlining the event and still wants to fight in December.
Jon said on Twitter on Tuesday after being asked who he is fighting next. ‘I’m preparing to fight Stipe on December 10 in Las Vegas. Not really sure what’s going on between Stipe and the UFC but. I’m ready to compete! I’m going to control what I can and stay in shape.’

If you take Jon Jones word for it then it seems like the holdup for this fight is on Stipe’s end. Stipe and the UFC have not always seen eye to eye, so hopefully, they can come to an agreement and get this fight confirmed. Stipe is also not the type of fighter who is going to get on social media and talk trash. This leaves Jones to do the heavy lifting when it comes to hyping this fight and getting people to talk about it.
Jon came out and tweeted last night. ‘I’m bringing all the heat @Stipemiocic, I got that fire you could never put out. Sign the contract #Ufc282’
Do you think this fight takes place in December and if so who do you think will come out victorious?
