Jon Jones poked fun at Colby Covington following his performance at UFC Tampa.
Covington was brutally beaten by Joaquin Buckley before the doctor intervened to stop the fight.
Jones who has been at the end of the trolling from Covington returned the favour to his former friend.
Jon Jones Posts Cryptic Message Aimed at Colby Covington
Following on from UFC Tampa where Joaquin Buckley dominated Colby Covington. It has led to many fighters criticising the former title contender. One of them was Jon Jones writing on social media the heavyweight champion said; “Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’—we all appreciate the sacrifice 🤡At least he got to see me win.”
Jones went on to say; “That’s what I find the most hilarious, listening to what he’s gonna come up with next after getting his ass whooped. I know I shouldn’t but it’s just so much fun. It’s amusing watching someone you know hate you fail repeatedly.”
Jon Jones and Colby Covington were once close friends with the pair constantly seen hanging out with each other away from the Octagon. However, that soon came to an end with Covington criticising the heavyweight champion and publicly humiliating him.
UFC Tampa Delivers With Exhilarating Main Event
While Jon Jones watched from the sidelines with excitement every time Covington was getting hit, fans wondered what was next for the welterweight. Colby Covington was once regarded as one of the best welterweights in the UFC. Renowned for his grappling ability and trash-talking, Covington rose in the UFC rankings.
However, with the American in a comfortable place he suffered consecutive losses to Kamaru Usman. Following this, a fight with Leon Edwards resulted in another defeat and now this loss to Buckley could see the UFC part ways with the American.
