UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones sends supportive message to former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
Adesanya has created quite the legacy for himself in the UFC because he is very entertaining inside the octagon. He’s coming off a loss to Sean Strickland, where the Nigerian-born fighter lost his middleweight belt.
On a recent epsiode of ‘The Rock’ podcast, Adesanya stated that he would not be fighting for a long time, and current heavyweight champion Jon Jones applauded Adesanya’s decision.
Jon Jones Supports Israel Adesanya
Adesanya will become one of the greatest fighters ever to step foot in the UFC. He is known for his incredible striking ability and intriguing personality. The former middleweight champion is active, fighting roughly 4-5 times yearly.
As previously stated, he will take a break from competing after losing his title to Strickland. Jones, who hasn’t always seen eye to eye with Adesanya, agrees with the decision. Taking to social media platform X Jones shares his thoughts.
“Hey [Stylebender], I just want to let you know I support your decision to take a break from fighting,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “Taking those last three years off was one of my best decisions. Always put YOU first, brother. Protect your heart, protect your mind [and] spirit. Proud of you, champ.”
They Have Squashed Their Beef
Jones and Adesanya haven’t always gotten along, as there were always rumours they wanted to fight each other. However, they have seemed to put the rivalry to bed. The evidence for this is what Adesanya said in a previous fighter meeting back at International Fight Week when asked if the beef had ended.
“Yeah,” Adesanya said then. “We have understanding and common ground. We’re competitors. That’s it. It’s like, why should I hate my brother?”

It is good to hear Adesanya will take a break to look after himself, and seeing him compete again when he returns will be exciting. It is because Adesanya is one of the biggest draws for the UFC.
