Jordan Allen is expecting to put on a “fight fans won’t forget” when he collides with Lorenzo Parente at Almighty Fighting Championship 30.
Almighty FC 30 will take centre stage this weekend in the Barnsley Metrodome. The AFC team have put together an exceptional line-up of amateur and professional action.
Ahead of his fight, we had the opportunity to catch up with Jordan Allen. Hear what he had to say below.
Interview With Jordan Allen
Before we start, I want to touch on the Four Nations last year, as I imagine that was a valuable and important experience you now hold close to you. Tell me about your time competing in Liverpool.
The four nations, for me, were an amazing opportunity at the last minute to see where I am at the start of my career and to get bronze. I was so proud, as it shows I was there to make up numbers.
You’ve had just shy of ten months out. How have things been since the last time you made the walk-in in terms of improving and grinding daily in the gym? Have you still been keeping a consistent training regime?
I feel I’ve improved massively in all areas and am genuinely so excited to fight after ten months out injured. I can’t wait to test myself against Lorenzo. He’s an Experienced amateur & good fighter. It’ll be a great test for me and a good fight for the fans.
In terms of preparation this time around ahead of your clash on Almighty. Have you done anything different in terms of structuring your camp?
I’ve not changed anything around my camp as I train full-time. I am ready to fight at any point. I just sharpen up a bit mentally, get the weight down and do sprint-based work. I’m a very active guy outside of mma, so it’s just a case of refining it for the fight.
Jordan Allen Talks Late Opponent Change
You’ve been faced with a last-minute change of opponent in Lorenzo. What do you know about him and how do you feel you match up?
I expect a great calm performance from Lorenzo. I’ve seen a few of his fights. I respect him as a fighter and person, and ready to test my skills against him. Thanks to him for taking the fight on short notice.
You win on Saturday night. How does Jordan Allen celebrate afterwards? Will you have a lot of family and friends in the venue to support you?
If I win, it’s the same as always ordering a pizza, eating a copious amount of chocolate and shit Sunday, Monday, and then Tuesday back to the gym. As far as celebrating goes, I don’t celebrate for too long as there’s always another challenge if you’re looking for it.
Finally, leave us with your official fight prediction. How do you get your hand raised on Saturday?
My official fight prediction for Saturday is an absolute back-and-forth battle. A fight the fans won’t forget is what I’m expecting, but I won’t predict anything. I just want to scrap simple as that win, lose or draw. I come to fight every time.
