Jordan Little has been in and around the amateur scene for some time now. The Gloucester-born fighter made his debut in 2019 and has been heavily active ever since.
Cage Warriors 142 will be heading to Ebbw Vale on August 13th, featuring both a professional and amateur card. The event will be televised on UFC Fight Pass, making it a huge opportunity for all the amateurs set to scrap.
Fighting at CW142
Many people may feel the pressure heading into an event like this, but not Jordan Little. “I’m going into this fight looking at it as any other.
“Yes, there will be pros on the card, and it is a televised event, but right now, to me, that means nothing. I’m going there and treating it just like any other fight. I’ve fought at the same venue. I’m just going there to fight and to win.”
Winning Silver at the Four Nations Championships
Little recently won silver at the Four Nations Championships in Liverpool. He has spoken a lot about what competing at the event has done for his mentality and believes it has made him a much better fighter.
“Whilst competing at the event, I went against some of the best in the UK. This put me in a great position to see where my skills match up with others.
“I had three fights that all went three rounds against very different opponents. I proved to myself that I belong in that level of fighting and that I am more than capable in any area of the cage.
“Competing at the event gave me some new confidence and got me to test myself on areas I might not have if I had not been selected.”
His Opponent
It has now been confirmed that Jordan Little will face Shore MMA’s Kane Darcy. Darcy is 5-3 as a fighter and also picked up the silver at the Four Nations.
Speaking about his opponent, Little said, “I’ve seen Kane compete on a few of the same shows as me. He’s a strong fighter and will be a good opponent for an entertaining fight, I believe.
“I’m expecting a lot of wrestling and forward pressure from him, but I know every fight is different. I’m ready for anything.”
His team at Range MMA are keeping him at the top of his game. “I’m prepared to fight the fight that I want. We are working on every area of the cage to make sure I’m ready to go.”
The Future
During his time in the sport, he has already achieved things many only dreams of. He has trained with the likes of Meatball Molly McCann and Vaughan Lee. He’s won silver at the Four Nations. However, walking out into a huge stadium at the IMMAFs in Bahrain has been his crowning moment in his eyes.
In terms of fight predictions, Little has made it clear that “I’m not someone to say how a fight will end. All I know is that it’s going to be entertaining. We will put on a great show.”
With regards to turning professional further down the line, the welterweight is taking it one step at a time. “I’m representing England again in September in the European Championships, where I can hopefully come home with a medal.
“I’ll have to wait and see what my coach says is next. I am keen to go pro, but only when he says I am ready. Maybe a few more amateur fights, but going pro is going to happen in the future.”
