Former BMF champion and two-time Welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal has relit his feud with Conor McGregor.
Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal has recently been hinting at a return to the UFC since retiring at UFC 287 in April 2023. At 287 Masvidal lost by decision to Gilbert Burns, then 38 years old with over 50 fights he decided his time was up.
Masvidal then came out of retirement to face his former rival Nate Diaz in the boxing ring. Diaz and Masvidal whom the BMF belt was built around would go the distance, with Nate emerging as the victor.
Despite losing Masvidal showed that he still has the stamina and heart to battle it out to the final bell. With a rumoured return next year, Masvidal has been throwing some names out for who he’d like to fight.
Of course, one opponent discussed was “Notorious” Conor McGregor.
Jorge Masvidal Scalds Conor McGregor: “He Can’t Do Enough Cocaine to F Get up and Fight Me”
Jorge Masvidal made it clear that he believes Conor is actively avoiding a fight with him. Going as far as to say Conor would “under no circumstance” fight him.”
He told MMA Fighting on SBN:
“Conor (McGregor), under no circumstances, is fighting me. He’s backed out of fighting (Michael) Chandler — poor little Chandler. I don’t know how many times he let that dude eat dust. Imagine me?”
Further “Gamebred” continued to roast McGregor, even accusing him of using cocaine.
He added:
“That guy is never fighting me. He can’t do enough cocaine to f*cking get [amped] up to fight me.”
Whether the cocaine use allegations are true or not, these words from Masvidal are bound to rile up McGregor. McGregor vs Masvidal would be a dream fight for fans given the fighters shared high striking ability.
The UFC would also be open to the idea of this fight given the popularity of the two combatants. But will Masvidal return to competition and if so would McGregor ever welcome him to the octagon?
